FAQ

eidWallet is a decentralized digital identity wallet based on blockchain technology. It uses Soulbound Tokens to securely and non-transferably represent a user's digital identity, enabling login, signing, and authentication without relying on centralized authorities.

Identity verification is carried out using a Double‑Check Identification System (DCIS) that combines:
- NFC scanning of electronic ID documents (eID cards, passports, etc.)
- Facial recognition with liveness detection to prevent deepfakes

This ensures the user is real and the document is authentic.

Yes. eidWallet supports electronic ID cards and passports compliant with ICAO standards, and aligns with European identity frameworks such as eIDAS and the EUDI Wallet. This enables cross-border use within EU countries.

You do. As a user, you control what personal attributes to share with each service. Your data is encrypted and managed locally or in a secure environment, never stored on central servers. Access is only granted with your explicit consent.

If a linked document expires or is updated, you can re-verify your identity using the same process (NFC scan + facial recognition). This allows you to regenerate or update your Soulbound credential. The wallet is designed to be persistent and updatable over time.
